The firm provided mechanical and electrical design of a grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) system for this high-end residence. The project consisted of 50,000 SF of building space located on 40 acres.

 

The PV system was integrated into the location to be aesthetically appealing and maximize the efficiency possible given available location restrictions. It was designed to disconnect power when the grid-utility is interrupted and does not interfere with the existing backup power generator. The array design used a ground mount racking system and connected 37.5kW of PV.
