San Francisco, CA

The Cooperage project is a mixed-use condominium development on a two-acre site planning to offer tenants and owners high-end home, office, and retail spaces while maintaining energy efficiency and testing sustainable technologies.  Our team provided sustainable concept and energy engineering design services during the early planning phase of the condominium project located at 900 Minnesota Street in San Francisco, CA.  The project consists of four new buildings and two existing buildings to be renovated for a total of 207,625 SF.  Large windows along the exterior provide ample daylight and views to all spaces.

Our team proposed that spaces be conditioned via radiant heated floors and natural ventilation only. Some of the sustainable systems studied and integrated into the Cooperage design were photovoltaics, solar water heating, daylighting, natural ventilation, green roofs, wind turbines, micro-turbines, geothermal heat pumps, and rainwater collection.
